Hello Folks!
CCVN here; just wanting to give all the readers of the SSBC Newsletter a chance to get to know a little bit about Centro Cristiano Vida Nueva and what we are all about. Hope you guys find yourself well and very blessed when reading this! Enjoy!
Centro Cristiano Vida Nueva or CCVN for short; started off as the Spanish mission of SSBC in 2005. We have seen the hand of God through these five years, and thank Him for connecting us with the people of Shady Shores, for we have been blessed through them. In the following you will come to learn who we are, why we are here and how we work. We hope you are moved by the way we function, all to see the glory of God!
Mission: Is based off Jn. 17:3 and we’ve come up with a slogan for it; “Live To Know Him, And Make Him To Be Known”. This is why we are a church; this is what we believe we are here for. To believe Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and live a life knowing his word and applying it to our lives. This also means sharing Him with non-believers through the gospel, through our relationship with Him, and over all through our lifestyle.
Vision:
Is to establish within our church an A.D.O.B.E.S lifestyle. It is an acronym with a lot of meaning behind
it. It is applied throughout the kid’s
ministry, youth groups, life groups, etc. Each letter gives reference to how we
should live our life day to day in “living to know him...” The A, stands for worship (of course in Spanish), we
should be worshipping God everyday! The D, discipleship; whether it be one
on one, bible study, or life group.
The O,
for prayer; we should be talking to God every day, that should be our longing
as each new day approaches. The B, for
bible; just as we talk to God every day, He wants us to hear what he has to
say. The E, for
evangelism; Jesus told his disciples, “Go to the people of all nations and make them my
disciples...” We should share the gospel every
chance we get with a new face. And now
for the S, which is holiness. Yes,
we are not perfect, but we should follow Jesus’ example in living as far away
from sin as we can. We wish for all the
members of CCVN to be an
ADOBES, because it is the people that make up the
structure of the church.
ADOBitos: This is our Kid’s Ministry. As mentioned before, we apply our Mission and
our Vision throughout the Ministry as a whole. There is no exception with our
kids’; they are taught to know who Jesus is and how to grow with a strong sense
of faith in Him. We say, “Prepare them rather than repair them”. We want to prepare them now for what life is
or can be, that way they do not become a statistic. That they can become strong in their
relationship with God and only stronger as they grow up.
Conxion: Our
Youth Ministry. This is a ministry that
has flourished and we believe this is only the beginning. We have seen that there are a lot of youth
out there that are lost in their ways.
We want to teach them that Jesus is the only and right way. They are youth that are learning that Jesus
is NOT boring and that He is interested in them and their lives. And He wants the best for them, and that it
is a day to day process.

GV’s: These are what you call “Life Groups”.
We know that this is a great way to grow spiritually and
numerically. It creates more
non-intimidating environments for new comers.
Where strong bonds can be created, and an even
stronger relationship with God can be made. We know it’s improper to ask questions while
the Pastor is preaching, so, we can ask in our GV’s. Have discussions openly
with no reservations.
EC: Escuela De Conocimiento, translation- Bible Study! This is not your typical study class. And we sure do have fun. We apply books to what we teach. All according to the members we have. For instance, if we have new believers or those who have expressed not knowing much spiritual knowledge; we teach a First Steps book, the basics of Christianity you can say. This is a more structured way of teaching the bible, and also a more intimate setting. Classes are small but packed with a lot of information and questions to go with it.
M.A.C.H.O.S: Our Men’s Ministry. This is where the men of CCVN come once a month to worship God, and discover how to become better men for Christ! Breaking barriers and stereotypes of how a man “should” be; but learning what kind of men God wants them to become. Men who are Meek, Worshipers of God, Compassionate, that love their families, Men of Prayer and who Serve.
Mujeres: The Women’s Ministry. Just as the men, they learn what kind of women they should be, all accordingly to the bible. Better wives, mothers, friends, servers of God; teaching them the very influential role they play in the family of God. Realizing they are of impact to others. And knowing the love that God has for them.
This is CCVN in a pretty big nutshell, but what a wonderful nutshell it is. We hope we haven’t bored you, but we really wanted to take the time to show what God has been doing with our church. In the following we share with you our schedule:
